"Engaging the Students of Today in a Catholic environment which promotes spiritual & academic excellence in the Leaders of Tomorrow"
The three elementary schools within the Cedar Valley Catholic School system are Blessed Sacrament School, Sacred Heart School and Saint Edward School. Students from Preschool through Grade 5 receive a quality Catholic education that nurtures Christian values and attitudes that will influence them throughout their lives.
Our students continue their Catholic education at Blessed Maria Assunta Pallotta Middle School and go on to graduate from Columbus Catholic High School. Our Catholic schools have been a strong tradition for over 133 years in the Cedar Valley.
Our teachers get to know their students as individuals and tailor their teaching and classroom activities to the specific needs of those they nurture. At CVCS, we make time in the classroom meaningful, thought provoking...and fun!
Our elementary schools’ curriculum is approved by the Archdiocese of Dubuque. Our schools are certified by the State of Iowa and are staffed by faculty who are also accredited by the State of Iowa.
There are approximately 425 students in our three elementary schools, and our average class size is 18 students.
You’ll find CVCS elementary schools provide a variety of curricular, extracurricular and community service activities, all within a safe, inclusive, Christ-centered environment.
